If you like challenges then you may be interested in the Perambulation of the Exmoor Forest, a 31 mile day light walk taking place around the longest day of the year.
Another good challenge, but taking considerably longer, is the South West Coast Path. This long-distance path is 630 miles long and you lose and gain four times the height of Mt. Everest from sea-level. From Minehead to Bude you have already climbed Mt. Everest once! You still have 495 miles to go to the end at Poole via Land's End.
If you have already done that then the Long Distance Walkers Association have plenty of other walks to challenge you.
What about other types of challenges on Exmoor? There are plenty to choose from on the Active Exmoor web site.
If you sometimes just fancy a simple days walk in North Devon and Exmoor then the West Country Walks web site has over a selection of walks and cycle rides ready to take you on some great outings.
Do you or your friends occassionally like the idea of being guided by knowledgeable local guides? If so, try the North Devon and Exmoor Walking Festival which takes place each May over the May Day Bank Holiday for 10 days.
